SearchDial Support: Name Search Type setting

    Setting the “Name Search Type“ pref to > “Begins with” seems to also yield results from “Contains”. V2.7

    A search with the letters ”fex“ throws up Spinifex. I thought that “Begins with” meant just that. Any clues?

    PS also the “Discussion Topic” field in this forum still has a yellow background and my text defaults to white. Can't see what I'm typing in that field. Sorry if there are any typos there.

    could it be that spinifex is in the notes field or some other place?

    My Notes Search is disabled. Spinifex is in the Company Name field and part of a number of email addresses but that's it Jeff.

    Ahh.. Company and Email address both get the "contains" search. I'm guessing what it comes down to is prioritization. Name hits need to be sorted a bit higher than other hits.

    i'll check into a good way to do that from the UI
