On my iPhone I have several contact groups: Contacts, Mobile Contacts and Contacts (Backup). This is obviously a hangover from my previous phone and from the fact that I may have synced my PC with other phones in the past. With the iPhone contact application I can choose which group to show or to display All Groups. Search Dial only returns results from All Groups and, therefore, shows the same contact and phone number multiple times.
