Thanks to everyone who has taken the time to contact me with feedback and feature requests. There are some definite common threads that I plan on addressing, so I thought it best to let everyone know what I'm currently working on.
Here are my priorities:
I'll provide additional posts with more details on #1 and #3 above - those are the most involved and fundamentally change the way SearchDial is currently architected.
Here are my priorities:
- Improve performance for both startup and searching.
- Provide search by initials (i.e. search "jb" or "jbr" to find Jeff Branc)
- Enable an "Action Mode" so you can choose what happens when you find/select your contact. Current priority is SMS and Edit, but also working on Email as well.
- Configuration setting for background color (white or black)
- Fix searching for first and last names that contain multiple words
- Fix searching names that contain extended characters

SearchDial
I have a new iphone 16gig running 2.1 software. I HAVE 5,013 contacts in my address book. Your program goes black when it opens and then shows the search screen for a second and then crashes out to home page. Are you aware of a number of contacts limitation?
Hi There,
I purchased Seach Dial because I have 1800 contacts on my IPhone. The idea of the application is great but startup takes so long that I would have found the contact already twice by browsing in Apple contacts! This makes the application not useable. Please update the startup speed by adding an index of the contacts or something.
It should startup withing one or two seconds to make it a handy tool.
Thanks
Please, I would like to see an option to expand the range of search to the Notes Fields of Contacts. This could be a preferences option. Thank you for your work!!
I forgot that this expanded search function would allow compete favorably compared to "Contact Find" ! :-)
I've heard about the notes searching from others as well. My initial hesitency is that it will return records with no immediate indication as to why, as i don't have enough real estate to show the notes. however i can imagine an arrow on the right side of the row that drops the row down to show notes working...
this is definitely a feature i will tackle, just need to work through the UI
